Adult Programs
We are in the process of developing a foundational program of adult religious education and faith formation that we hope to launch in the fall of 2010. Currently we are offering for adults several opportunities to connect with others, to go deeper in the spiritual life and to learn more about religion and our Unitarian Universalist tradition.
Below are descriptions of our current and regular offerings. Please see the church calendar for information about actual meeting times.
Small Group Ministry offers the opportunity to connect with others and consider significant questions and ideas in a deeper way. Each small group (7 to 10 people) commits to meeting twice a month for a minimum of three months. These groups, led by a facilitator who’s also a member of the group, engage in a practice of deep listening and engaged participation that can be powerful and helpful.
UU 101 is a three-session introduction to this church and UU history and theology. Led by Rev. Frank Clarkson, it’s a good way to meet other folks here, share something of your own spiritual story and learn more about the church.
The Bible: Trouble and Blessings is a class and discussion for people who want to explore the Bible and its relevance to contemporary issues and our own spiritual lives. We’ll begin with some background to help put these ancient texts into context, and then explore methods of interpretation—how we might read and understand these stories Then we’ll work with particular texts that group members have experiences as trouble or blessing (or both!). Led by Rev. Frank Clarkson.
Spiritual Practice Groups are available in both Buddhist mediation and Pagan practice. For more information, visit the Ongoing Events page.
We also regularly offer book discussions, movie screenings and other adult education opportunities. Please check the Events at UUCH page for the most current information.
